The active translation is quite literal. In Spanish, we would say something like "to have a bad connection" instead of "to be on a bad network". In the same fashion, we don't talk about "the experience" as a noun the way it's used in this sentence in English (although this wrong translation has spread quite a lot over the years). I switch the focus to something that can be translated in English as "Using less data may be useful for", which is more natural in Spanish.
