"Número" is very generic. The youngest people prefer used the word "móvil" (in Spanish). It is an informal language and common.

I think we have to make clear in Spanish that we refer to mobile telephone number. Móvil is not widely used in all Spanish speaking countries, so to avoid confusions we can use Teléfono.
