This sentence can be more direct and clearer. It is better to state what it is "imprecisa" rather than what it isn't " não ser precisa sempre", so the reader has the affirmative information straight away. I also think it is better to remove "estimativa", which is absent from the original and doesn't add any real information to the reader.

The word “estimativa” (“estimation”) added in the Portuguese translation adds no information so it should be eliminated. The expression “nem sempre pode ser precisa” is confusing. “Nem sempre é precisa” is straightforward and precise.
