"Adesivos" is the equivalent of stickers, considering that stickers are glueable. Also, the majority of the brazilian population does not know what stickers are, thefore the need to translate it to "adesivos.

In Portuguese, we use the word "Stickers" as well, however, the ones who don't use it usually use "Figurinhas" because it's more popular than "Adesivos".
