In this sentence, ''dolandırıcı'' fits more than ''aldatıcı'' which is closer in meaning to the word ''deceptive''. ''Aldatıcı'' is more closer to the word ''imitation'' so my selected word is better in conveying the context of fraud and scamming. In the second sentence, it makes more sense when the subject is spoken of in the indirect form.
