주제'주제'도 틀리지는 않으나, 흔히 '주제'는 'subject' 뜻으로 쓰고, 여기서는 '이야기의 소재나 이야기거리'라는 뜻이 크므로 '논제'나 '화제' 쪽이 더 가깝다고 봅니다.
