To say "sorry", "lo lamentamos" is more formal than "lo sentimos", which has sort of a personal and soulful connation. Supported is a tricky one in spanish as the literal translation refers more to structural support or withstanding a person or a situation. In simple terms, when a file type is not supported, there isn't programming to process it and open it; therefore, simply saying "it can't be open" is the most direct way to get the message across.
